Book Character Dress Ups, Firewise and Discovery - what a day!

What an exciting day. We loved dressing up as our favourite book characters - it was so much fun!

Later, some real firefighters came to talk to us about how to be Fire Safe. We learnt some really important things and got to see a fire truck up close.

Discovery Time was also lots of fun - we played on our scooters, built with our new magnetic equipment, experimented in the Creative Room and collaborated with the Blue Stuff.

We are Scientists - Messy day!

We have learned that scientists have ideas, can look carefully, make predictions, do experiments and find out things.  We had such a fun time doing this on our messy day.  We squashed, and slimed, and gooed, threw, pushed and slid.  It was so good to be able to get really messy and wet while we were learning how to be scientists.

Diwali - The Festival Of Lights

The Hindu holiday Diwali celebrates the new year. Diwali is a major holiday in India, but it is celebrated by people living outside of India as well. The name Diwali comes from a Sanskrit word that means “row of lights.” The holiday is often called the Festival of Lights.

The festivities last for five days. The fourth day marks the start of the new year on the Hindu calendar.
